2-3 Sentence NFL "Beauver-veiw"

Starting this week, I will be providing my personal overview, otherwise known as the "Beauver-view" of the upcoming NFL games. Each week I will deliver a 2-3 sentence overview of a storyline for each game followed by a ranking, scale 1-10, based on how excited I am for that specific game.

Vikings (0-1)  @ Eagles (1-0)

Eagles looked a little rusty last week, and Super Bowl runner ups typically have had a tough time the following season. On the other hand I thought the Vikings were going to boat-race the Bucs in week one, and they ultimately fell short. I'm expecting this game to be very exciting.

8.7

Packers (1-0) @ Falcons (1-0)

Packers embarrassed the Bears in week one, while the Falcons got the job done against their division rival as well. Are the Packers going to get it rolling again with only their third quarterback in the last thirty years? NFC South is a wide-open division, and Falcons starting off 2-0 could be the momentum they need to make some noise in the south.

6.8

Raiders (1-0) @ Bills (0-1)

I really thought the Raiders were going to be a team in the mix for the Caleb Williams sweepstakes, and while it was only one week, coming in with a win makes this game a little more interesting than I would have thought. Josh Allen needs to play better than he did on Monday night, and therefore I expect this to be a "get right" game for the Bills.

5.2

Ravens (1-0) @ Bengals (0-1)

Bengals started out the 2022 season at 0-2, and they could be climbing the same uphill battle this season. What makes their situation a bit tougher this year is their first two games are against division opponents. There is still so much left in the season, but the Bengals will need to fight and claw for a win here, and I expect this game to be electric.

7.9

Seahawks (0-1) @ Lions (1-0)

Seahawks traveling across the country for an early timeslot game, makes me feel like the Lions will take care of business. However Detroit is [sadly] coming off of one of their biggest wins in recent memory, so this is naturally a bit of a let down spot.

6.8

Chargers (0-1) @ Titans (0-1)

This game could get interesting, because no matter what, at least one of these teams is leaving this game winless. The Titans are the inferior team on paper, but Vrabel is a fantastic coach. A loss for either team could get the wheels in motion for a change; Titans may look to make a switch at QB or, if the Chargers lose, the seat may be heating up for Brandon Staley.

6.3

Bears (0-1) @ Bucs (1-0)

I might be the only one that feels this way, but I am very excited for this game. Will Baker advance to 2-0 for the first time in his NFL career, or will the Bears bounce back after an embarrassing performance in week one? Feels like it will be exciting either way it turns out!

8.1

Chiefs (0-1) @ Jags (1-0)

Firework matchup in week 2. These teams played an exciting divisional round game in the 2022 playoffs. Hot take of the week; at least one of these guys will be 0-2 heading into week 3: Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, or Joe Burrow.

9.2

Colts (0-1) @ Texans (0-1)

Who doesn't like a little head-to-head rookie match-up. Neither of these teams are good, but they're evenly matched, and each is led by a quarterback who was drafted in the top four of the 2023 NFL draft, and that's excitement enough for me.

7.6

49ers (1-0) @ Rams (1-0)

This is not my fact, I found this on the internet, and admittedly I did not fact-check, so forgive me if it's wrong. Apparently this is the first time in NFL history that "Mr. Irrelevant" will be matched up against the number one pick in the draft. Sadly, that's about the only exciting thing I expect from this game because I find it hard to believe the Rams will stand much of a chance against the 49ers.

4.3

Giants (0-1) @ Cardinals (0-1)

Will the Giants score any points this week? Cardinals put up a much better fight in week one than I was expecting, and the Giants looked about as bad as they could. Admittedly, this is a bit of a toilet bowl matchup.

3.2

Jets (1-0) @ Cowboys (1-0)

Cowboys looked like one of the top teams in the NFL last week, and the Jets are coming off a colossal tragedy despite the fact they won. Either way, the only question mark for the Jets is the quarterback, which is a huge question mark, but I really believe this could be a sneaky great game.

7.7

Commanders (1-0) @ Broncos (1-0)

Commanders didn't look great in the first week, and I was really expecting the Broncos to take it to the Raiders. Unfortunately, I think both of these teams are a bit of a snooze fest, and I don't expect much from this game at all.

2.8

Dolphins (1-0) @ Patriots (0-1)

The Dolphins/Chargers game was the game of the week last week, and the Dolphins looked to be a juggernaut. With the Rodgers injury, it feels like a window may have opened for this division, and don't-look-now but I kind of think the Dolphins might be the best team in the AFC East. Having said that, it's the Patriots, and you can't sleep on them.

7.5

Saints (1-0)  @ Panthers (0-1)

Certainly the less exciting match-up of the Monday night double header. Storyline to get excited about? Hopefully we get to see Bryce Young continue to take steps forward.

1.3

Browns (1-0) @ Steelers (0-1)

The Browns haven't won a regular season game in Pittsburgh since the Bush administration, in fact it's been nearly 20 years. The Steelers looked BAD in week one, and the injuries seem to be piling up. That said, you have to wonder if the Browns being road favorites, has all the makings of a classic Pittsburgh Steelers "big brother" beat down.
