Soup Szn Week Three: We're heatin up

Week three of the NFL, was not the most exciting slate of games, but in the Soup-er Bowl season things were really heating up. This week we turned it up a notch and made chicken tortilla soup. And as usual, when I say "we made" I really just mean McKayla made it, while I brought a few laughs and some moral support. The kind of support a team like the Commanders could use after getting blown out 37-3 by the Buffalo Bills.

Unlike week one and two, there was very little pre-snap drama. No fingers cut off, no cats on the prowl. Just a solid 20-6 performance, like the Lions over the Falcons. And the great thing about chicken tortilla soup is, it seems pretty easy to prepare. I'm just basing that off of McKayla's stress level, or lack thereof. It wasn't, Dolphins 70 point domination en-route to a win over the Broncos, easy...but it was fairly easy. Plus chicken tortilla soup pairs nicely with some chips and queso which we enjoyed. It's always nice when you have something to enhance your experience. Probably how Bears fans felt in Arrowhead on Sunday. Sure, they lost to Chiefs 41-10, but they had the greatest performer of our generation, Taylor Swift, in attendance so that certainly had to enhance the experience.

The soup was once again great! In fact I'd say it was as excellent as the Browns defensive performance over the Titans in a 27-3 victory. I am not a very picky eater, so therefore I think I will like most of the soups we make, but it will really come down to which I like the most and which I like the least. There will need to be some late decisions on the list. Like the Chargers late game decision to go for it on 4th and 1 from their own 35 yard line, I am hoping my decisions will work out for the best.

This was the last Sunday of September football and therefore it was the last soup of September as well. But even as we get later in the season, the weather is refusing to commit to full blown soup weather. There have been a few flashes of cold weather, a brisk morning here and there, but in northeast Ohio the temperature is expected to be 79 degrees and sunny this weekend. We have already made a decision on our week four soup, kicking off the October slate with Cheeseburger Soup. Can't wait to provide my feedback next week.
