Soup Szn Week Six: Better Late Than Never

Image
We are a few hours away from Week Seven Thursday Night Football and I am just now releasing my Week Six soup review. I wish I had a better excuse besides creative laziness but ultimately that's all this boils down to.  I love  writing but sometimes I struggle with coming up with ideas and angles to write about. When I committed to this soup review blog series I hoped I would be able to give an in-depth weekly analysis of our soup journey. Admittedly I am struggling to find things to say but wanted to keep this up for anyone following.  This past week we debuted the first of our chili recipes. I say the first, because we are early in chili season, and I could definitely see us running it back later in the year. Chili is always incredible and the one McKayla prepared for us this past Sunday was no exception. Not only that, but with our fourth anniversary being today, we celebrated this past Saturday night. The carry-over from our celebration of love could be tasted in the c...

Soup Szn Week Five: Load Management

Image
Soup season is chugging right along. While this week kicked off the NFL bye week, soup season takes no rest. Sure, load management is a topic of conversation for professional athletes but not for hard working soup enthusiasts. And that's why, while the athletes are focusing on load management, we were focusing on loading up some baked potatoes in the form of soup.  Loaded baked potato was this week's soup, and like last week we had a few guests in attendance which added to the excitement of a full day of football. As you may know, this is also playoff baseball season, so the TVs were buzzin with sports content. Our Wi-Fi put in more work than five NFL teams this past weekend (the four teams that were on bye, and the New England Patriots...who lost 34-0 to the Saints.)  This really is the best time of year for sports fans. Football is in the full swing of things, playoff baseball is here, NHL and NBA are right around the corner, and college basketball follows right behind. Also...

Soup Szn Week Four: Cheeseburger in Paradise (Northeast Ohio)

I'm switching up the soup review this week. Not only am I a day late with this review, I'm also changing the flow of the post.  Hand up, the last few weeks the NFL game results plugged into the soup review felt forced, and therefore I am going to abandon that about as quickly as the Patriots abandoned Mac Jones for Bailey Zappe. Okay...that's the last one I promise.  This week McKayla and I were coming off a marathon of a Saturday. Literally. We ran a marathon on Saturday. The fact we woke up early enough to watch the blokes in London cheering as Slinky Dog set the first down markers was nothing short of a miracle. NFL Sunday had an early start, and as a result, so did we.  Additionally, this Sunday, we had a few guests in attendance. My brother, sister-in-law, their son, and their dog all travelled down I-77 to join us for a day full of football and soup. This week on the menu we had cheeseburger soup. The soup was a combination of ground beef, carrots, garlic, onion, Ve...
