Soup Szn Week Six: Better Late Than Never


We are a few hours away from Week Seven Thursday Night Football and I am just now releasing my Week Six soup review. I wish I had a better excuse besides creative laziness but ultimately that's all this boils down to. 

I love  writing but sometimes I struggle with coming up with ideas and angles to write about. When I committed to this soup review blog series I hoped I would be able to give an in-depth weekly analysis of our soup journey. Admittedly I am struggling to find things to say but wanted to keep this up for anyone following. 

This past week we debuted the first of our chili recipes. I say the first, because we are early in chili season, and I could definitely see us running it back later in the year. Chili is always incredible and the one McKayla prepared for us this past Sunday was no exception. Not only that, but with our fourth anniversary being today, we celebrated this past Saturday night. The carry-over from our celebration of love could be tasted in the chili on Sunday. Chili is great, but when it is made with love it's even better. 

This week I will be taking over the reigns and making the soup for the two of us. I have my sights set on a butternut squash or some sort of pumpkin bisque. 

Hopefully I will find creative motivation to deliver an earlier and better blog next week. Love you all!

Declaring War on Duck Donuts

Never heard of Duck Donuts?  Consider yourself lucky.  I've had their donuts a couple times before and in all honesty...pretty good. The relatively small chain provides a range of customizable donuts. Again, as far as quality goes these donuts are bomb...no pun intended on the above image. Having said that, FUCK DUCK DONUTS.  The source of my hatred comes from an event this past Sunday September 18th 2022, a day that will live in infamy for the water-bird pastries. My wife and I stayed the night at my brother, and his wife's place and in the morning I offered to order donuts for everyone. I placed an online order with the Fairlawn location. Order went through, I received a confirmation for my order and a pick up time of 9:04am was sent to my email. When I arrived at Duck Donuts there was a sign on the door that said "Closed Today Due to Short Staffing." Annoying? Yes. Beau Gannon's Gossip Girl Recap - Episode One

Good people of the internet, I am asking you, to follow me, a 32 year old man, as I embark on a journey through one of television's most decorated, respected,  poignant examples of a late 2000's teen drama...Gossip Girl.  I have never watched Gossip Girl before this, and I know nothing about the show. Found out yesterday that Blake Lively, Tony Romo's brother-in-law, Cindy Lou Who, John Tucker's brother, and the girl from a Netflix movie (The Weekend Away...bad movie) are all in this show.  My initial reaction? I'm going to love it. Is it good? Verdict is still out on that...but regardless I am going to love it.  Here is my reaction to episode one:  I am team S. S is Serena, but Gossip Girl calls her S, and I want to remain canon.
