Soup Szn Week Five: Load Management
Soup season is chugging right along. While this week kicked off the NFL bye week, soup season takes no rest. Sure, load management is a topic of conversation for professional athletes but not for hard working soup enthusiasts. And that's why, while the athletes are focusing on load management, we were focusing on loading up some baked potatoes in the form of soup.
Loaded baked potato was this week's soup, and like last week we had a few guests in attendance which added to the excitement of a full day of football. As you may know, this is also playoff baseball season, so the TVs were buzzin with sports content. Our Wi-Fi put in more work than five NFL teams this past weekend (the four teams that were on bye, and the New England Patriots...who lost 34-0 to the Saints.)
This really is the best time of year for sports fans. Football is in the full swing of things, playoff baseball is here, NHL and NBA are right around the corner, and college basketball follows right behind. Also, I'm becoming a big women's college volleyball fan, so I'm usually watching a few volleyball games a week as well. Oh and I watched an EPL soccer game on Sunday...I think it was West Ham and New Castle? If those two teams played then it was definitely them. But in short...sports...sports...sports...SPORTS!
Not only is the sports season peaking, but this past weekend was the first true fall weather weekend, and it seems this weather is here to stay. Which means we are about to venture into the highly anticipated chili season!
The loaded baked potato soup was fantastic, and I think everyone in attendance was in a consensus agreement on that. I mean what's not to like? Potatoes, cheese, sour cream, bacon. Is there anything better than that combination, fall weather, and a full day of sports?
As alluded to above, we are kicking off our first chili recipe this weekend, and we are pairing that with some hot apple cider. Can't wait for Sunday!
